Enjoy the many festivals and celebrations held throughout the year. We have a variety ranging from art, to home tours, to bargain shopping.

Annual Victorian Festival - October 4, 2008

Come and experience the 8th Annual Calvert "Victorian Festival", a glorious day filled with lots of fun events on October 4th, 2008 where there is something for everyone!

 

"Main Street Fair" - 10 am to 5 pm   Free admission!  Food, Beer, Shopping, Children's Area, Arts, Crafts, Entertainment, exhibits and Street Characters!.  We encourage everyone to dress "Victorian", but it is not required.  Come and take a step back in time. "Victorian Tea" - 2 pm to 3:30 pm  Tickets $35.00 each, reservations required.  Experience a relaxing afternoon of tea and refinement in a lovely garden setting at one of our fabulous historic homes, the Barton-Satterwhite lawn located at 404 Maple Street.  Bring your camera because you're sure to see a beautiful array of hats and dresses.  You'll be served by a Victorian staff in period attire.  We'll have you saying,"Oh Fiddly Dee, I'll think about that tomorrow." Click here for reservations.

 

"Victorian Gala" - 7 pm to Midnight  Tickets $65.00 each, reservations required.  The grand finaly of the festival is our formal Victorian Gala held at our historic park pavillian, "Virginia Field", located at 500 Pin Oak Street.  Dance the night away to live music!  Enjoy a sumptuous buffet dinner!  Feast your eyes on some of the most beautiful costumes, ever!

Come and help us celebrate American History in the 1880's.  The Calvert "Victorian Festival" is the perfect opportunity to learn about the history of Calvert, be delighted by our costumed characters bepicting actual historic and fictional people, as well as to develope your own character and costumes, making the "Victorian Festival" just that much more enjoyable for everyone.  See you there!

 

Annual Christmas Homes Tour - December 6 & 7, 2008

Our Annual Christmas Tour of Homes will be on December 6 & 7, from 1:00 PM to 5:00 PM.

Self Guided Driving Tour

This tour will lead you up and down the tree-lined residential streets and describe each historic landmark. Each site is illustrated in the guide. The architecture as well as the historical significance is detailed. Obtain a tour guide from many merchants downtown for $5.00.
