Hearne's 4A & 4B Sales Tax Boards do not have official websites.  This page is provided as a public service by the Hearne Chamber of Commerce.

Hearne Economic Development is working very hard to encourage new businesses to come to Hearne, to lure existing businesses to Hearne, to keep existing Hearne businesses open and economically viable, and to create an environment that attracts businesses to and keeps businesses in Hearne.

Several different types of incentives are available to companies that are considering making the move to the crossroads.  Local assistance may include the following:

Hearne has two economic development boards (4A - Hearne Economic Development Corporation; 4B - Infrastructure Improvement Corporation) which may be willing to provide financial assistance as well as infrastructure improvements to help get your company up and running in Hearne.  4A & 4B Sales Tax Board Members.  Additional information about Hearne's 4A and 4B Sales Tax Boards will be added here in the future.  In the interim, you may wish to review a list of the types of Application Information which may be required when requesting assistance from either of these two tax boards.  Texas law identifies the purposes of 4A and 4B sales tax boards and the types of permissible expenditures.  You may wish to consult Economic Development Laws Of Texas (produced by the Texas Attorney General's office) for additional information.

The Revolving Loan Fund, administered by the Brazos Valley Council of Governments, may offer financial assistance that matches loans provided by banks;

The Brazos Valley Small Business Development Center offers a variety of programs, services, and resources for entrepreneurs and small businesses;

The Hearne Chamber Of Commerce is quite active and provides opportunities for new businesses to become a part of the local community.  The Hearne Chamber's website at www.hearnetexas.info is one of the best in central Texas.

In an effort to market itself more widely, Hearne Economic Development has recently joined forces with other similarly situated communities on or near I-45.  The I-45 Corridor Alliance (which includes the towns of Buffalo, Fairfield, Hearne, Madisonville, Mexia, & Palestine) enables these communities to jointly host booths at major trade shows, to advertise in select publications, to compare notes on how best to promote central Texas from an economic development perspective.
