In recent years, Robertson County has been a hotbed of oil and gas exploration, production, and distribution activities.  Information obtained from the Texas Railroad Commission on oil- and gas-related activities in Robertson County is listed below.

Well Counts

In February 2003, there were 372 oil and gas wells in Robertson County.  345 of these were producing wells.

In the first eleven months of 2002, Robertson County produced 42,934,359 Mcf (thousand cubic feet) of natural gas and 1,269,567 barrels of crude oil.

Exploration Activities

Aside from the county's already producing wells, several companies have recently obtained permits to drill additional wells in Robertson County.  In the year ending January 2003, a total of 74 new drilling permits had been issued for locations in Robertson County.  These drilling permits were issued to the following companies:
