This past summer, two active members of College Republicans interned in Washington, DC.

Lydia Percival, past president of TAMU College Republicans, interned for the Clare Boothe Luce Policy Institute. Luce Policy Institute is a non-profit organization dedicated to conservative women who believe in equality, not radical feminism. Percival worked on the institute's two seminars held dunng the summer produced an issue paper on Women's Studies on college campuses. The issue paper, The Slovenly Science, is the first at length study of Women's Studies from a conservative stand-point.

Carlos Espinosa, an active member of the College Republicans, interned for The Leadership Institute under William Forrest who was, coincidentally, College Republican's first speaker of this semester. Carlos implemented programs of the leadership Institute into multi-media formats. It has been a prevalent rumor that Carlos also thoroughly enjoyed the night-life of DC. Past VP Publicity Dave Johnston is currently interning for the Leadership lnstitute in Washington, current VP Publicity Kimberly Rogers will be working for them this spring.

Eva Darski, College Republican's token Canadian intemed in the constituency office of Diane Ablonczy, member of parliament and a founder of the Reform party of Canada. Eva attended meetings and townhall discussions on healthcare, social programs, and balancing the budget. Having volunteered for Diane's campaign, she was used to using their computer system, and dealing with constituents. The Reform part of Canada is striving for accountable government, personal responsibility, and fiscal restraint.

College Republicans has a number of members who are looking for a career in politics and many of their members are not interested in such a career. The club welcomes both. However, if you are interested in a career in politics consider the careers of some of our former members, the oldest of whom is twenty-six.

At the State Convention in Waco this past April, TAMU College Republican member Christen Cudley was elected as State College Republican Secretary.

Only one year is left until the American people come to their senses and vote Clinton out of office! (Restrain your applause, please!) There is no time to waste! There will be campus campaign organizations for all the Republican candidates vying for the nomination.
