Location: Lies on Big Cypress Bayou north of Longview, off U.S. Highway 259 in Marion, Morris and Upshur counties.
Description: This scenic reservoir serves multiple purposes of flood control, water supply and recreation. It has 140 miles of shoreline with shallow sandy shores at the upper end and steep sloping banks and rock outcroppings at the lower end. Water is fairly clear with a maximum depth of 49 feet.

Fishing Regulations: Crappie -- No minimum length, no culling -- December 1 through the last day in February. Bag limit 25 year round. Otherwise, same as statewide.

Fishing Tips: Plastic worm fishing can be excellent in the lower end near rock piles and gravel shoreline next to deep water. At the upper end, where lily pads cover acres of prime water, catch bass up to eight pounds on plastic frogs, casting spoons and soft plastic stick baits.

Facilities: The lake annually draws four million visitors, and no wonder. Recreation facilities, including launch ramps, campgrounds and picnic sites abound.
