Comments: This is one of the most productive reservoirs in the state for catfish and white bass. What's more, TPWD fisheries crews use the river below the dam
to gather much of their striped bass brood fish for the hatchery system. The
area below the dam is also one of the top tailrace fisheries in the state.

Fishing Tips: Calling-card fish for this lake are the flathead and blue catfish,
especially for trotliners. Select a location near deep water and bait your line
with shad, bluegill or crawfish. Then with luck, you might challenge these
outstanding lake records.
Fishing Quality:
Facilities: Numerous private marinas dot the shoreline. Each has excellent camping and boat launching for a fee. The TRA has parks on both the east and west
sides of the lake, and TPWD has built a state park on the southeast corner
(409/365-2202).
