Comments: A lake that was carefully managed from the start and filled in stages, this reservoir quickly became one of the best fishing holes in Texas. Through the protection of tight bag limits and catch-and-release this quality may be maintained into the 21st century. If this lake has a blemish it is the shortage of shoreline recreation facilities to serve the fishing public.

Fishing Tips: Try the flooded brush piles in 15-30 feet of water to catch a mixed stringer of species -- black bass, crappie, white bass, warmouth -- on live minnows or small plastic jigs. For black bass, use jigs or plastic worms in the flooded timber.
Fishing Quality:
Facilities: Now, they are in short supply. But, by the end of 1992 both state and federal recreation areas have projected openings to the public. One boat ramp now serves the east side (Pilot Point) and one ramp serves the west side (Sanger).
