Celebrating 30 Years of Service The Harford County Genealogical Society is a non-profit group whose purpose is to facilitate the preservation and dissemination of information on the history and genealogy of families of Harford County, Maryland, and its immediate vicinity. The Society also provides a forum for generic genealogical research and technologies. MEETINGS: Meetings are free and membership is open to anyone having an interest in the families of Harford County, Maryland, or its vicinity. We have about 80 members, with average meeting attendance of about 20. NOTE THAT THE NOV MTG WILL BE ON THE 22nd NOT THE 15th. DUES: Annual dues are $15.00 per household. Members receive at least five newsletters and one special publication each year. LIBRARY: We supply documents to & help maintain the FAMILY HISTORY SECTION of the LIBRARY of The Historical Society of Harford County, Inc. Requests for research should be addressed to the Historical Society as described here. MAILING LIST: We sponsor the MDHARFOR-L@rootsweb.com mailing list, and one of our members serves as its custodian. The mailing list is for discussion of genealogy of Harford County families (including families of the part of Baltimore County that became Harford County in 1774).
