Round Top Register - Texas Fun Travel Guide - The Courtjester

Watercolor by Harold Phoenix

Welcome to...
ROUND TOP
The biggest little town in Texas!

Welcome to Round Top, Texas...population 81.

We're mighty glad to have you visit. If you take a look around you just might find out some of the reasons why we call our little town "the biggest, little town in Texas."

The Mayor and the Aldermen of the Town of Round Top would like to thank you for dropping by our special little city and invite you to look around.

There's always lots going on in Round Top. Just check our event calendar to see what's happening.

Round Top is the smallest town in Texas with a public library. Visit the beautiful Round Top Children's Library and bring the kids. The Sterling and Marianne McCall Library Building, a restored 1920's gothic church, is the Library's home. You won't believe it!

We have a unique history here in Round Top, Texas. If you want to find us...take a look at this map.

Give our Chamber of Commerce at call at (409) 249-4042...or click the banner below and read our famous newspaper, the Round Top Register or its travel guide to find our more about the true heart of Texas.

As the folks at Yahoo pointed out a while back, when they picked our little newspaper as one of their "Top Picks of the Week"...Round Top proves you don't have to be big to be the center of the universe.

Round Top was named one of the "Top 100 Arts Small Towns in America." We brag that we have more fine arts perfomances per capita than almost any city in the nation. Take a look at our Fine Arts section and be amazed.

FESTIVAL HILL - SHAKESPEARE/WINEDALE - HENKEL SQUARE

As the home of the International Festival-Institute at Round Top, Shakespeare at Winedale, the Winedale Historical Center and the Fourth of July parade west of the Mississippi. Each spring and fall, we host one of the premier antique and craft shows in the nation.

At Bethlehem Lutheran Church, you can tour one of the oldest Lutheran sanctuaries in Texas and view the Wandke organ, made of native cedar by the first organ maker in Texas.

So welcome to Round Top, the biggest little town in Texas! Sit a while on the porch. There's a rocking chair with your name on it. If you have any questions just give us a shout on this newfangled e-mail.
