Friday hours: 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Saturday hours: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
The Smithville Public Library is a fully automated library. Library cards and internet use are free. Library cards are also free to in-town and out-of-town patrons.

The Smithville Public Library is a member of the Central Texas Library System (CTLS) and The Texas State Library. Due to this membership, patrons of our library have access to various Texas State Library TexShare databases:

The library has a wide selection of genealogy/family history
materials.
The Genealogy Group meets the second Saturday of every month at
9:30 a.m. in the Community Room.

The Little Bookworms Program is held on Wednesdays at 10:30 am. Children are invited to come enjoy storytelling, crafts, singing, and videos. Special programs are held periodically throughout the year with the support of an Union Pacific grant, the LCRA, and the Friends of the Library. |

The Friends of the Smithville Public Library is a non-profit, non-policy making organization of area residents and business people who are working to promote the programs, services and growth of the library. Contributions to the Friends of the Library are used for only one purpose - to supplement the resources of the library. The organization meets quarterly at 5 pm on the first Thursday of September, March, June and December.
