Email from Emily Baldwin '01, who is back home in D.C. now and wrote this on November 19, 1999:

"From the point of view of someone who is reading about this Bonfire thing through Washington D.C. and New York newspapers, let me just tell you that it is clear to everyone around the country that the people at A&M have something special, and its becoming more clear to everyone that that thing is a sense of the power of God and prayer. The whole nation heard about the prayer meeting that ya'll held there. While other school would be falling apart, you guys are coming together, and you're actions are not going unnoticed. God works in such strange ways, but in some ways its pretty clear why he did this. The wittness that all the Christians there are to the rest of the world is priceless. I wish I could give you a hug right now for being part of that.
